Weight Loss With A Low Carb Diet
A low carb diet is just what it states. It’s a food diet that limits your carbohydrate intake and concentrates on proteins and fats as the main source of food.
Low carb diets became popular a few years ago because they can be a great way to lose weight (quickly in some instances). A diet of this type encourages the reduction or elimination of foods such as breads and grains, and a variety of fruits and starchy veggies.
Why low carb diets can work well for weight loss is this: carbs in the body tend to raise blood sugar levels. Once that takes place insulin kicks in and is instrumental in driving blood sugar into the cells.
This can then prevent fat breakdown within the body keeping you from burning excess fat and losing weight. Conversely the opposite can happen if carbs are greatly reduced.
For carboholics like me the question then becomes: What do I eat if I cut back on carbs?!
In exchange for all those glorious breads and pastas and starches you substitute proteins. These are foods like meats (beef and poultry and fish) and eggs, and dairy products and some vegetables (non starch).
The benefits of eating this way can result in some weight loss. In fact many people have lost more weight with a low carb diet than with a low fat, low calorie diet.
Like most diets, you must continue to eat this way to maintain the weight loss. In other words it must become a lifestyle change.
You lose weight with this diet for a few reasons:
First there is the loss of water weight. Your body burns off glycogen when it decreases the carb intake. Since glycogen is made up largely of water you will be eliminating this water through increased urination. This will cause some immediate weight loss.
For reasons that are unknown a low carb diet tends to decrease your appetite. And it also gives you the feeling of being fuller than when you’re eating carbs.
This is because you are now eating foods higher in fat and protein. These take longer to digest so you feel full for a longer period of time.
The last reason you tend to lose weight with this diet is that you’re reducing calories. This is a big key to losing weight. Carbs tend to be higher in calories than the proteins you are substituting. Lower carbs and you lower calories.
Another health benefit of the low carb diet is that you may be able to lower your blood cholesterol levels. This does depend upon what foods you eat as the substitute.

Walking Will Help You To Lose Weight Naturally
Who would have thought you could just use your legs to lose weight. There are so many people that do not like to walk because of cars, computers, and bikes. People do not like to walk but you can lose one hundred calories in one mile when walking for weight loss.
It is very easy to get a great pair of shoes and open your door and start walking. You do not need expensive equipment and you can have a little alone time to think about your day or problems in your life that you could solve when you are walking.
The fresh air in the morning will open your lungs and make you breathe fresh air.
Breathing in good air is healthy for any one. You have time to think about your day and what is coming up.
To start walking you do need to find the right walking shoe so it will help your arch in your feet. If you go to a sports store or have some one help you can find a very good shoe.
Walking can add years to your life. When it is cold outside just make sure you bundle up real good you will get warm after a few moments of walking.
To walk indoors does not give you the benefits like walking outside. When you are inside you do not get the fresh air, and you cannot walk the stride you do outside.
A thirty minute walk three times a day is very healthy for walking and the morning is the best time. But if you can not walk in the morning that is o.k. Just open your door and start walking for weight loss you will start seeing the weight come off.
Eating right is also a good to combine to your walking regime. Just cut out fat and eat a lot of fruit and veggies.
Fresh fish is good also. If you eat every four hours and put a thirty minute walk three times a week you will see a weight loss. You burn calories the more you walk. The more you weigh the more weight you will lose.
Walking helps even out your weight loss so you lose weight in every spot that you want gone. The best part about walking is every one can do it from age five up to ninety five.
Just take your time on getting your speed of walk going and build up to a brisk walk. In about one week you should be at a great speed.
There are times that you will go to a party or gathering and there is great food to eat. Go ahead because you know the next day you can just go outside and take a walk.
Tuna with Lemon Pepper

Tuna with Lemon Pepper (Low Carb)
Ingredients:
4 tuna steaks (3/4 to 1-inch thick, about 6 ounces each)
Zest and juice of one (1) lemon**
2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves
1/2 to 1 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
Extra-virgin olive oil
**1 1/2 teaspoons grated lime zest and 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice in place of the lemon.**
Instructions:
In a small bowl mix together lemon zest, thyme, pepper and salt to your liking. Lightly rub both sides of the tuna steaks with olive oil and rub the seasoning mix on the tuna steaks. Heat a bit more oil in in skillet and then add tuna steaks. Cook each side of tuna steak for about 1 minute over medium heat. Pour lemon juice over the steaks when ready to serve.
